TEWSENとは TEWSENは明治に創業した注染製品の問屋「丸久商店」が2022年に始めたファクトリーブランド。 伝統的な型染め技法（注染）を用いて古来の技法やデザイン・職人の技を大切にしながら、現代的な機能性とアソビゴコロを融合することで日本固有のものづくりを引き継ぎ、新しい価値を発掘、発信していきます。 また、TEWSENでは和晒生地の中でも主に浴衣生地として使われる「紅梅（こうばい）」を使用しています。愛知県知多半島で織られる「知多木綿」の一つで、凹凸のある格子状の織り目が特徴で、凹凸を意味する「勾配」から紅梅と呼ばれています。織り目に凹凸があるため、生地が肌に張り付きにくく軽やかな着心地です。 ABOUT TEWSEN TEWSEN is a factory brand which was launched in 2022 by Marukyu Shouten, a wholesaler of Chusen dyed products that was founded in the Meiji Era. It carries on the traditional production of products that are unique in Japan and which combine modern functionality with a playful spirit, while continuing to value ancient techniques using traditional stencil dying methods (Chusen), in order to identify and communicate new value. From many types of traditional Wazarashi bleached fabrics, TEWSEN uses the fabric known as Kobai, which is primarily used in yukatas. It is one type of Chita Cotton that is weaved on the Chita Peninsula in Aichi Prefecture, and is characterized by its unevenly textured lattice weave. The name “Kobai” (plum tree with red blossoms) was chosen because it is homophonic with the word “Kobai” (uneven surface texture).
